Field Mouse Goes to War Book Description
Kids will listen with rapt attention as their new friend, the field mouse, attempts to outwit a hawk that is stealing chickens from his people, the Mishongnovi. It’s a traditional Hopi tale that showcases the mouse’s courage and cleverness as he protects his village. Originally published in 1944 by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the book includes Hopi text alongside the English. It teaches the important lesson that size does not always equal power.
