Let’s Go to the Movies

February 6, 2024

If you love movies as much as we do, visit Sedona between February 23rd and March 3rd for the highly acclaimed Sedona International Film Festival. Thirty years old in 2024, the festival is set to be Sedona’s biggest celebration of the silver screen yet.

Over the course of nine days featuring more than 140 independent films shot all over the world, viewers can choose from features, shorts, documentaries, animation, foreign films and student films. Travel to see us, then travel the wider world without leaving your theater seat.

Decide if a psychic medium is the real deal or a fake in Woody Allen’s “Magic in the Moonlight,” starring Colin Firth and Emma Stone. View “The Teacher’s Lounge,” nominated for an Academy Award for Best International Feature (Germany). And, always a crowd favorite, see all of the short films nominated for Academy Awards in 2024.

Films take place at the state-of-the-art Harkins Sedona Cinemas, the Mary D. Fisher Theatre, the Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre and the Sedona Performing Arts Center. The independent film programming is complemented by a family film series, a green/sustainable series, “Docs that Make a Difference,” and a World Cinema Showcase.

Come hobnob with the filmmakers, celebrities, industry professionals and other film buffs in a community-minded festival that takes Sedona’s commitment to arts and culture to another level.

We’d love to host you during the film festival, giving you a quiet retreat to return to after an evening at the theater. Cinephiles can stretch their on legs Marg’s Draw trail, located near The Arabella and leading into Red Rock country (Book our Hike More, Stress Less package and we’ll include a free Red Rock pass and bottle of local Sedona spring water). Later, soak in one of two heated pools or hot tubs and plan your screenings for the next day. See you at the movies!
